Mitchell Auto Group is proud to sponsor Guiding Light Orphans as their August 2016 charity of the month. Guiding Light Orphans is a non-profit 501c3 organization founded by Jolly Lux and her husband Kurt Lux. GlO’s mission is to provide free basic health care to children and their caretakers in rural Uganda.
This will be the third year that the Mitchell Auto Group has sponsored the young organization. Executive director Jolly Lux says, ” we are very grateful to be the recipients of Mitchell Auto Group’s Legacy of giving. ” Last year’s generous contributions allowed GLO to complete construction on their first Medical Clinic in rural Masindi Uganda. This year. GLO will use the money to purchase the necessary equipment and supplies needed for inside the clinic to have it ready to function on a regular basis.
The clinic currently is structurally sound and has clean running water inside from the water tank that collects rainwater outside which was generously donated by the Rotary Club of Avon-Canton. GlO will use the money from the Mitchell Auto Group to purchase medical equipment and supplies to get the clinic ready to fully function and treat patients on a regular basis. The medical staff is ready to start work as soon as they have all the items they need. It should be fully operational within the next few months.
Jolly goes on to say, ” Everyone on the GLO team and all of those we serve are very grateful for their continued support.”
